Searching for that Special Song

Music started out happy today with Excelsis - A dark noel. Then the second Excelsis album, a winter’s song. But after that I was all over the board. I down-loaded Sting’s new album “If on a Winter’s Night . . . I love it, but I can’t work to it. I’ve found that just because I enjoy music doesn’t I mean I can work to it. So I was off in search of music.

Holiday music: Rosemary Clooney, amazing voice, but didn’t work for writing this book. “The Grinch Stole Christmas”, so not. Love the show, but so couldn’t work to it. Already tried the new Tori Amos holiday CD; nope.

Musicals: The Lion King once through worked great didn’t want it twice. “A Year with Frog and Toad” enjoy it, could not write this book to it. “Annie Get Your Gun”; no. “Unsinkable Molly Brown”; no. “Annie”; no. “South Pacific”; no. “1776”; not this book. Used it book before last. It’s still wedded to that in my mind.

Music general: Trying Fiona Apple’s second album. Interesting. Don’t think I can write to it. “Something’s Gotta Give” music from the movie; no. Have the soundtrack from “The Fellowship of the Rings” in now, and though lovely, doubt it will work for this book.

It may not be that there’s anything wrong with the music, it may simply be that I’m tired and need to stop for the day. I’ll go back to Korn tomorrow, but didn’t think my migraine-hangover could handle Korn today. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’d hate to be right and push it.

So, five pages is good for the day. I’m happy with it, or if I’m not, my tiredness tells me I’m going to have to be, because its all I’ve got for the day. Sigh. But hey, five pages is progress and that was the goal for the day.
