Anita Blake comes to comic books in Dabel Brothers new ongoing comic book series
The multi-million selling novels, Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter are coming to comic books in October 2006 and Fantasy Books is celebrating the event with a book signing by acclaimed comic book author Stacie M. Ritchie.
"We are very fortunate to have Stacie visiting our store for a book signing of Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter Guilty Pleasures comic book." said Tony Favello, co-owner. "Stacie's husband is a regular customer and we immediately thought to contact her for this event"
The Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter novels follow the ongoing conflicts of main character Anita Blake in a fictional St. Louis inhabited by supernatural creatures such as vampires, werewolves and zombies. With the fourteenth novel recently published, author Laurell Hamilton has joined with Dabel Brother's and Marvel Comics to move Anita into the comic book medium. Local author Stacie M. Ritchie was chosen to pen the comic book series and has agreed to a book signing at the upcoming Fantasy Books Customer Appreciation Day, October 21, 2006.
"This is my first adaptation of a book. I am scripting the comic directly from the novel, and we're sticking to the text as closely as possible" said Stacie. "My editor, Sean J. Jordan, has given me a lot of guidance -- and he insists that we stay true to Ms. Hamilton's vision of the story instead of trying to create our own."
Fantasy Books is celebrating its third annual Customer Appreciation Day on October 21st. There will be storewide sales on comic books, graphic novels, toys, games and collectibles. Fantasy Books is thrilled to add Stacie's book signing to this years event and looks forward to supporting the extensive Anita Blake fan base. There will be plenty of copies of Guilty Pleasures on hand for everyone who visits us that day.
